"I know," McCain set down his mug, and got up from the cafe table. "I was just complimenting your professionalism on the matter." Sue gave him a look.
"Don't you care at all??"
Sue pinched the bridge of her nose. "Why do you always act so indifferent? Don't you care??"
McCain gave a heavy sigh, one not normally made around others. "I do care, but me being angry and upset about it won't solve anything. You and I both know that. If anything," he took Sue's hand in his own, "we should help catch the killer."
Sue smiled through tears. "You're right."
